Yesterday was a huge day for me as I completed my very first comic 'Red Moon'
I’m actually really proud of myself that I finally got one made as I’ve been wanted to do so for a long long time and hopefully now that I know it’s possible I plan to create more.
The series Red Moon is about vampires (if you couldn’t tell) But with a twist on them that hasn’t been done before. Only a few who like my artwork page on facebook and close friends have given it a read and I’ve heard great things back. However I plan to go far with this and need to get a few things sorted before I let complete strangers give it a read.
As for the continuation of the series I hope to actually have the second done by this time next month. With the simple line drawings for the comic and simple point and click colouring, followed by the extra tweaks like speech bubbles and thought boxes…I can complete 5-7 pages in a day. S0 maybe they’ll be released a little earlier than expected (as I ‘m SO not the type to say ‘well that’s the next issue all sorted. Now to lounge around for 7 more days until release date’. So as soon as it’s done it’s going up) but a month between releases will be the maximum.
People ask me “Plan to make money from it?”
And my answer is easy. “Yes, I’d LIKE to get some profit from it. But ever since I wanted to create a comic I never once had money in mind. All I want to do with a series is to create something people will love and show their love for. Like maybe wear a shirt with the logo on, fan art, and even go the extent as to cosplay the characters. Money would be a great outcome but it’s not why I do it. Maybe I’ll make another series or a few one shots where people see them and think ‘Oh, a new comic by the guy who does Red Moon? Well Red Moon is pretty cool. Sure, why not.’ But as for Red Moon itself, it’ll be free as long as I know people enjoy reading it.”
